Fall 2013 Semester Off to a Good Start

On August 7th, NKA kicked off the Fall 2013 semester with the annual coffee at The Clarion. A record crowd was in attendance, with old and new NKA members eager to renew acquaintances and see what the new catalog had to offer.*
They weren't disappointed. There are over 100 exciting classes and activities designed to foster our retirement community's continued intellectual and cultural growth.
Long-time staff member, Shirley McElprang, and Gary Keirn, a new staff member as of last year, welcomed everyone with big smiles.
This year's NKA President, Marjean Waford (foreground), moved among the tables, greeting NKA participants.
Judy Liday (above) and Connie Howell (below) tackled the generous brunch buffet before settling in to examine this year's course offerings.
When asked what they were particularly looking forward to this year, many NKA members said that while they hadn't yet had a chance to look through the catalog, they were planning to sign up for a full slate of classes.
Joan Juskie (left) immediately replied, "Travel," referring to the numerous group trips planned. Ann Rogers (right) added, "Learning new things."
Barbara Fenwick (right) echoed the "travel" excitement, while George Oyama (center) and Dorothy Schugt (left) expressed eager anticipation of the return of popular presenter Dr. David Adler.
John and Karen Meiners (second and third from left) and friends discussed this year's plans for the Snake River New Horizons Band.
Ardith Moran, Fit & Fall Proof instructor, promoted a "train the trainer" class sponsored by the Southeastern Idaho Public Health office.
Other NKA members in attendance included:
Lois Wellard, Audene Campbell, and member-presenter Sue Skinner
 Allan and Kathy Priddy
 Jeanne Davis and Betty Lochridge
Joyce DeGarlais and Maureen Hendricks
Melvin and Barbara Nicholls and Pauline Havens

Come join the fun! NKA's contact information and a link to the catalog appear in the sidebar to the right of this post.
