Readers Theatre: March Mystery Double Feature

March was Mystery Month for NKA Readers Theatre. On March 29th, we performed a double bill of detection for our faithful audience.
First up was Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton, a Sherlock Holmes mystery. Ron Gill adapted the script, directed, and read the role of Holmes. Alma Tilley read the part of Dr. Watson, and Allan Priddy starred in the title role as the cigar-wielding villain, Milverton.
Mary Anne Hoffmann provided the narration in the role of Watson's grand-niece, Julia Vanderkeif. Other cast members included Jane Riley as Mrs. Hudson, Dawn Keller as Inspector Lestrade, and Donna Jordahl as the announcer and as Madame X.
Next up was Agatha Christie's The Case of the Careless Victim, an Hercule Poirot mystery. Alma Tilley adapted the script and directed the performance. Carol Nelson read the role of the famous Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot. Kathy Priddy read as Miss Fletcher, Poirot's side-kick in detection.
Other cast members included Linda Lindley as the announcer, Jean Anderson as Laura Parrish, Jane Riley as Officer Brady, Carole Hagler as Johnny the elevator operator, Lois Welland as Inspector Stevens, Ron Gill as Jonathan Parrish, and Donna Tilley as the airplane pilot. Not pictured below are Virginia Kelly as the rental agency clerk and Cheryl Lyda as Agatha Christie.
[If you're a fan of Agatha Christie, visit Agatha Christie's Wit & Wisdom at to find a compendium of over 300 quotes from Christie and her characters.]
Sound effects for both plays were provided by Rosa Mena, assisted by Audene Campbell.

Next month's performance on Thursday, April 25th, will be a celebration of Idaho's Sesquicentennial. NKA members will receive an emailed announcement, but everyone is invited to attend.
