NKA Coffee Kicks Off Fall 2012 Semester

The NKA Coffee on August 15th at The Clarion officially began the Fall 2012 semester of classes and activities.
Bob Bieda, this year's President, welcomes member Audene Campbell.
NKA members turned out in recording-breaking numbers to get re-acquainted and pick up the Fall semester's catalog of offerings. Above, JoAnn Dilweg alphabetizes the registrants' nametags.
This semester, NKA members have 119 classes and activities from which to choose. The $40 NKA membership fee offers unlimited opportunities for participation.  Mary Anne Hoffmann (above) peruses her catalog, deciding which classes will best fit her schedule.
Pat Bystrom, NKA Communications Chair, and Donna Jordahl, a regular presenter of classes, discuss this year's selections.
NKA members Audene Campbell and Carol Nelson get some welcome advice about their choices.

New NKA Communications Chair: Pat Bystrom

As out-going NKA Communications Chair, I'm pleased to introduce you to the new Communications Chair, Pat Bystrom. Pat's very active in NKA. She's a member of the Latin Line Dance group, she's been on several of the NKA excursions, and she is Lady Macbeth in our "Evening of Shakespeare, Mah Jongg Style" one-act play. You'll see Pat at more NKA classes and activities this coming year, so don't hesitate to introduce yourself to her, if you haven't already met her.

Thanks to all of you who sent photos and stories to me this past year. The NKA blog has quickly grown in readership since the first posts last November. As of this date, the blog has received 2,223 views ("hits") from online readers across the United States and an additional 728 hits from other countries, ranging from Russia to Australia.

As the year progresses, if you have news and photos of NKA activities, please share them with Pat, so they may be posted here. Her email address appears in the sidebar to the right of this screen. And please, when you email photos to Pat, be sure to include information such as people's names and a brief description of the activity.

Have a great year with NKA!
